Potato dumplings in macadamia sage butter and cucumber salad

Potato dumplings are a classic side dish served with many meals. These potato dumplings with sage butter are also simply heavenly as a low-histamine main course!

Ingredients for 4 people 

For the dumplings

For the salad  

For the macadamia sage butter  

  • 6 stalks of sage  
  • 40 g butter  
  • 50 g macadamia nuts

Potato dumplings in macadamia sage butter and cucumber salad. Histamine intolerance.

preparation

  • Wash, peel, and cut the potatoes into pieces. 
  • Cook in salted water for about 20 minutes. 
  • Wash the cucumber and slice it thinly. 
  • Peel the onion and dice it finely. 
  • Drain the potatoes and rinse them with cold water. 
  • Press through a potato ricer and mix with starch, egg yolk and HistaFood organic herb salt. 
  • Form approximately 12 dumplings. 
  • Bring salted water to a boil and then reduce the heat. The water should no longer boil. 
  • Let the dumplings simmer in salted water for about 15 minutes. They are done when they rise to the surface. 
  • Wash and dry the sage. 
  • Heat butter in a pan and fry the sage for about 4 minutes. 
  • Add dumplings and fry until golden brown. 
  • Season the cucumber salad with olive oil and organic herb salt and serve with the dumplings. 

Our HistaFood tip

If you have leftover dumplings, you can simply freeze them.  
For this, it's best to slice it and then, if desired, fry it in a pan with a little butter until crispy. Simply serve with a salad.
