Vegetarian bell pepper and feta schnitzel

We've combined bell peppers and feta cheese to create delicious, low-histamine bell pepper and feta schnitzel. Welcome to vegetarian schnitzel paradise!

Ingredients for 1-2 people

  • 3 bell peppers (yellow and red)
  • 1 cup spelt flour
  • 1 cup spelt breadcrumbs (1)
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 Feta cheese (1)
  • HistaFood Organic Herb Salt
  • Olive oil

Vegetarian bell pepper and feta schnitzel: histamine
preparation

  • Cut the bell peppers in half and remove the seeds.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the bell peppers on the baking sheet with the cut side down.
  • Bake at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for approximately 20-30 minutes, until the peppers are cooked through.
  • Remove the peppers from the oven, place them in a bowl and cover.
  • Peel the peppers after 10 minutes.
  • Prepare three separate plates each of spelt flour, breadcrumbs, and egg yolk with a little salt.
  • Cut feta cheese
  • Fill the bell pepper halves with feta cheese and fold them over.
  • Roll the bell pepper and feta schnitzel in spelt flour, egg, and then breadcrumbs.
  • Fry in a pan heated with olive oil until golden brown on both sides.
  • Serve warm
