Chestnut slices

This is what autumn tastes like: These low-histamine chestnut slices are quick to prepare and can be served warm or cold. You absolutely have to try them!

This recipe is

Preparation time   

20 minutes  

Ingredients  

  • 1 liter of gluten-free oat milk (1)  
  • 250 g rice semolina  
  • 150 g coconut blossom sugar  
  • 20 chestnuts, cooked and vacuum-packed  
  • 1 tsp cinnamon  

Topping  

  • 2 tbsp ground almonds (1)  
  • 10 chestnuts, cooked, vacuum-packed  
  • 2 tbsp chopped almonds (1)  

Chestnut semolina slices preparation   

  • In a pot, mix rice semolina, coconut blossom sugar and milk, and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.  
  • Remove pot from heat  
  • Lightly chop the chestnuts and add them to the pot with cinnamon.  
  • Stir well and let it steep briefly with the lid closed.  
  • Meanwhile, toast ground almonds, coarsely crumbled chestnuts, and chopped almonds in a pan.  
  • Moisten a casserole dish with water and pour the semolina pudding into the dish.  
  • Smooth it out and top with the almonds and chestnuts.  
  • Serve warm as a pudding or let it cool in the refrigerator and serve as slices.
