Tanghulu – Candied Fruits
Tanghulu are a traditional Chinese sweet made from candied fruit. Warning: Highly addictive!

Ingredients
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1 cup of water
- Low-histamine fruit of your choice, e.g., blueberries, grapes, blackberries, mango (1)
preparation
- Put sugar and water in a pot and bring to a boil.
- Do not stir during the entire process, otherwise the sugar will crystallize.
- Continue simmering over medium heat until the sugar turns a yellowish color.
- Wash the fruit, pat it dry and skewer it onto wooden skewers.
- Prepare in a bowl of ice water
- Once the sugar has reached the desired consistency, dip the skewers into the syrup and then immediately into the ice water.
- Let cool on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and serve.

You can also color the syrup red, for example, with compatible food coloring or juice, if desired.
