Oriental spelt waffles with applesauce

Fine notes of cinnamon and cardamom paired with crunchy pomegranate seeds and pistachios make this low-histamine, oriental-inspired spelt waffle with applesauce a real highlight on the breakfast table.

Ingredients for 2 servings
For the waffles
- 250 g spelt flour
- 2 heaped tablespoons of flaxseed meal
- 5 tablespoons applesauce
- 250 ml water
- 1/2 pack of cream of tartar baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp cardamom
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil for baking
For the topping
- 1/2 pomegranate
- 6 tablespoons of applesauce
- 20 g pistachios

preparation
- Mix the ingredients for the waffles and let them sit briefly.
- Grease the waffle iron with coconut oil and bake the waffles until they are golden brown.
- Arrange everything on a plate and garnish with applesauce, chopped pistachios and fresh pomegranate seeds.
